Only Daughter by Anna Snoekstra
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I won this book in a goodreads giveaway.
Currently, I'm in the middle of the book and I will be finishing it shortly and I'm not going to edit out this part but I see a lot of praise for this book and I personally don't like it all that much (it's kind of boring) and this is here for notice of future me, to let myself know that I knew the ending of this book before I even read the fucking book.
WELL, I DIDN'T KNOW THE ENDING. Damn, that was a decent ending, no hints, I didn't even see it coming. And I read a lot of Psych thrillers. I think it's more of a mystery and thriller rather than a psych thriller. But that's just me.
The book was decent, it did bore me until the end. I read the first part, skimmed the middle, and read the end. So it wasn't really engaging throughout. It felt like the middle was all filler and boring.
I'm not really sure why the girl pretending to be Rebecca wasn't named but I'll leave that alone. I'll also leave out the part where she didn't really have a personality where Rebecca obviously did.
It was okay. I think you liking it depends on your tastes in general.
Grand Verdict: Surprise ending saves the book
Rating: 3 out of 5
Favorite Character: Rebecca
An oasis for my nerdy ways until I have the tech and things necessary to properly have my youtube channel. This content will mostly be about books but I will occasionally cover other things. Mostly books. I love books.

The Infinity of You & Me by J. Q. Coyle
The Infinity of You & Me by J.Q. Coyle
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I want to start and say that I did like this book. I liked this book a lot and I won it in a goodreads giveaway.
So, let's talk about the romance. Why was there romance? The romance was so forced and unneeded in this book, I literally didn't understand the purpose of it. It wasn't even subplot, it just showed up, it's like if someone were to throw a psychology text book at your face. Sudden and painful. I don't know really how they fell in love, it just happened, like of all people Alicia could have had feelings for it's the person she knew for less than a day, what?
I sincerely hope that this is a series because this is a good book for a start to a series. There was no true ending in this book, don't look for one, only one loose end was tied, everything else was left to hang. What happens? Hell if I know but Alicia sure is happy in the end isn't she?
J. Q. Coyle, ladies, please let this be a series, this is not a standalone novel. Even if you guys meant for it to be a standalone novel, reconsider it, because you didn't end it the way that standalone novels need to end. Make it a series, flesh out Jax and Brian and Alicia more. Even the anatagonistic threat wasn't completely dealt with. This book is open to a sequel, so please make more books.
But I do recommend the book, it's pretty cool. It has nothing special to it writing wise but it's a pretty good story, if you ignore the awkward romance.
Grand Verdict: Okay but needs more books
Rating: 3 out of 5

Kim Kardashian's Marriage by Sam Riviere
Kim Kardashian's Marriage by Sam Riviere
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This is legitimately the weirdest book of poetry I've read but when I read about how it was written, I can't help but think that it was meant to be this weird. The way that the poems are composed really limits the flow, as in, there's some weird turns in the middle of poems that make no sense and you just stop reading.
I'm giving this 3 stars because I did enjoy it, even though it was weird. I also gave it a star based on the title, so you can always take that one star off and count it as a 2 star review. It's interesting, I might recommend it, it depends.
I wish that the title of this was Kim Kardashian's butt and that they made up some stupid fact like her butt is 72 inches long like her marriage.
Grand Verdict: What Is Google Poetry?

Soppy: A Love Story by Philippa Rice Book Review
Soppy: A Love Story by Philippa Rice
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Soppy is probably one of the most adorable graphic novels that I've read. The art? Adorable. The dialogue? Adorable. The everything? Adorable.
If you're looking for out of this world art and a dynamic story, you're not going to like this book. But if you want something quick, easy to read, and might make you smile; then you'll probably love it. I definitely recommend this. ~
This is a 5 star rating based on the intention of the writing, which was to be a cute little graphic novel about a couple. I can't give it a literary review when it's not meant to be a literary piece. Some goodreads reviewers don't understand this concept. This is was a disclaimer.
Final Verdict: Cute & Enjoyable
Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars. ~

The Power of Love Hearts by Princess Mazzaloulou Book Review
The Power of Love Hearts by Princess Mazzaloulou
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
First and foremost, I won this book in a goodreads giveaway.
This is a self-help and spirituality book and it's a really cute one at that.
I mean, if love hearts aren't your thing you could simply insert your preferred person/item of worship there and it would work out just fine.
Every page has the word love heart in it and the repetition of that word on every page really bore me as well as annoyed me. Every page has some cute/whimsical art in it as well.
In my opinion, if you're looking for a simple self-help book that you can smile at, this would be the one for you. The word choice is between simplistic and elegant and it's something that I can appreciate. I definitely do recommend it for someone that's looking for a change of pace in self-help books.
Grand Verdict: Good for it's intended purpose

Next Top Villain by Suzanne Selfors Review
Ever After High: Next Top Villain by Suzanne Selfors
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I love Ever After High and for the longest time my favorite was Raven Queen. And she still is but I really like Duchess now.
In the webisodes they make Duchess seem like an epic villain but she's just a complicated character like Raven. There isn't a lot of complicated characters in this series.
This book is about Duchess Queen dealing with being in a class for villains and having to do an assignment that is really evil or risk failure, which Duchess Swan just doesn't do. That's just what the book's about.
I gave it five stars because I found the story to be really good, Ever After High does have a good message to it and this book conveys that message well. The wording used in it was whimsical and delightful which is rare in middle grade novels. The storyline is good and there's a lot of puns. I like puns.
I do recommend this book. I recommend all of the Ever After High books. Haha
Grand Verdict: Ever After High Is Ultimate

Publisher Highlights || Doubleday
Doubeday is a publisher that a book I just received came from. It was gorgeous and I was just like 'Hey, I need more from this publisher.' I know that that isn't really how publishers work but yeah. Whatever it takes to take my mind off of the Meg series.
So, here's three books from Doubleday that I want and know I'd enjoy.
American Housewife by Helen Ellis
Meet the women of American Housewife:they wear lipstick, pearls, and sunscreen, even when it's cloudy. They casserole. They pinwheel. They pump the salad spinner like it's a CPR dummy. And then they kill a party crasher, carefully stepping around the body to pull cookies out of the oven. These twelve irresistible stories take us from a haunted prewar Manhattan apartment building to the set of a rigged reality television show, from the unique initiation ritual of a book club to the getaway car of a pageant princess on the lam, from the gallery opening of a tinfoil artist to the fitting room of a legendary lingerie shop. Vicious, fresh, and nutty as a poisoned Goo Goo Cluster, American Housewife is an uproarious, pointed commentary on womanhood.
China Rich Girlfriend by Kevin Kwan
It’s the eve of Rachel Chu’s wedding, and she should be over the moon. She has a flawless Asscher-cut diamond, a wedding dress she loves, and a fiancĂ© willing to thwart his meddling relatives and give up one of the biggest fortunes in Asia in order to marry her. Still, Rachel mourns the fact that her birthfather, a man she never knew, won’t be there to walk her down the aisle.
Then a chance accident reveals his identity. Suddenly, Rachel is drawn into a dizzying world of Shanghai splendor, a world where people attend church in a penthouse, where exotic cars race down the boulevard, and where people aren’t just crazy rich … they’re China rich.
Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan
When New Yorker Rachel Chu agrees to spend the summer in Singapore with her boyfriend, Nicholas Young, she envisions a humble family home and quality time with the man she hopes to marry. But Nick has failed to give his girlfriend a few key details. One, that his childhood home looks like a palace; two, that he grew up riding in more private planes than cars; and three, that he just happens to be the country’s most eligible bachelor.
On Nick’s arm, Rachel may as well have a target on her back the second she steps off the plane, and soon, her relaxed vacation turns into an obstacle course of old money, new money, nosy relatives, and scheming social climbers.

The Matchup by Laura L. Walker
The Matchup by Laura L. Walker
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I won this book in a goodreads giveaway, thank you for the opportunity to review this book.
This is a story of two single parents coming together and going through life with church and their children. One of which as autism. This is literally all the book is about. That's it.
I got the innate feeling that the only way that the characters in this book would forgive someone is if they become religious or regain their spirituality. Which was in a large part why I became a Deist. I just strongly dislike that view in general but it didn't really affect how I read the book, it just irked me, just a little bit.
The two characters are likable. Valerie and Gage are two people that are way too hard on themselves and had really horrible spouses that made them stronger and stuff. The kids are the real stars of this book. Laura Walker writes children well. If not anything else, the children were believable, and I always appreciate that. Kids all handle trauma differently and well, I don't really know anything about austism and how individuals with autism are, but based on how well Whitney was written I'm going to assume that she hit the mark with Justin.
Now, there are very specific reasons why I gave this book 3 stars, the book didn't really have any sort of conflict nor climax, it kind of just stayed flat the whole time story wise. Boy and girl reunite, boy hires girl, boy and girl fall in love, boy and girl get married. That's the story. To me, I like having a conflict in a story and I was expecting for Nick to be more of a conflict and he wasn't which was kind of a disappointment.
Overall, I enjoyed the book, I do think that a religious person would enjoy it more than I did because I did skip the preachy and church parts. But it was an entertaining book that put some attention onto autism, I always appreciate a book that highlights mental illness. So in that way, I recommend the book. I think all the characters in this book are mormon and I believe that mormons have their own religion, so by this logic I'd say that mormons would enjoy this book. However, if I had to be completely honest I feel that anyone that is in a religion that branches off from christianity would like this book.
Grand Verdict: LDS Book Because Yeah
Rating: 3 out of 5
Favorite Character: Gage, Whitney
